As for the numbness, I did a bit more research: straight wrist instead of cocked and leaning, use abs to support self, bend elbows, shoulders not rolled forward. Probably all things I've been guilty of. I angled the wings of my ergons upward which helped with the wrist, although I felt I was hanging on with just my thumbs. That said, no numbness today. Will keep experimenting and might still look in to some gel gloves.
Make sure your brakes levers
are positioned correctly too.
