Agree on both counts. All I have on my bikes are the little bells to alert pedestrian traffic on MUPs. But one time I was about to enter an intersection on a green light when a car shot through in front of me on a red. Just then a cyclist came up from behind and let loose with his Airzound and it was kind of neat to see the motorist jump a bit in his seat.
