I'm slowly gathering parts and pieces for my '86 Specialized Sirrus, I will be looking for a compact crankset, I would like it to look vintage, and be lightweight, I will be replacing the bottom bracket at the same time, so I have some flexibility there.

I see some pretty good looking modern crank sets, but they are virtually all black, not the look I'm going for.

What are some options that have worked for others? I plan on using the 105 group the bike came with, but switching to a 7 speed freewheel, run in friction mode.
