I never clean my bike after rain, it is a workhorse, not a racehorse.
Waxing the frame helps shed dirt. Don't wax the braking surfaces !!!!
Grease all metal-metal surfaces and threads to prevent binding.
I re-lube the chain when dry.
Fit fenders.
