When I first tried rollers I had a similar issue and part of the issue was the tire was not seated correctly on the rim. Then I also noticed my wheel was not radially true as it should be. Once I took care of those two things I have not had much issue.

I have the same Nashbar rollers and I really like them. They do seem a bit loud but I suspect most rollers are going to put out a similar amount of noise.
