It appears the left bar is wrapped backwards. Your hand will unwrap the tape over time.
And since you're just doing risers, you have a lot of extra tape so you can overlap it a lot more.
I recommend barend plugs to complete the job.
My experience has been the opposite. I tend to rotate my wrists down when I climb. If the top of the wrap goes forward at the stem, I am unwrapping it. My rule (since all my bikes have dropped handlebars) is to start at the bar end with the top of the wrap going in.
And yes, bar end plugs! (Not so necessary with straight handlebars, but with drops, those bar ends are cookie cutters in a crash. I hit an opening car door many moons ago and stopped with both thighs on the bar end plugs. Had deep circular 1" bruises on each. Don't want to even think about the "what if" of not having those plugs)
