This question got started with a 5-speed 14-22t Regina freewheel bought from a bike shop "trade bin" for $80 with a center ring that reads "Regina Extra Record."
Four aluminum (duralumin?) cogs, the 14t cog missing a tooth was discarded. Aluminum body, has slightly larger cog thread diameter than standard steel Regina bodies.
Next, found a Regina Extra Record with titanium cogs for a very nice price on the Bay. (Identical to the "Titanio" except for model name on center ring, has "standard thread" cogs.)
Further complicating matters, then found a "Regina Extra" with that odd aluminum body - all aluminum cogs, but all brittled & crumbling away. Body is 4-notch instead of 2-notch.
Finally, just bought a "S.C. Corse" with steel body and "standard thread" aluminum cogs, also on the Bay.
Have found no mention of aluminum cogs or of this model name in the 1970's Regina catalogs I've seen - If the "Oro" is not the top model, the "Titanio" is with no mention of aluminum.
Anyone out there remember any details about these and/or (better yet) know any of the history/Regina's thinking behind these?

Were they ever sold to the general public or only offered to teams (maybe why I've never seen a totally NOS one)?
Any insight into this very early chapter of the "Weight-Weenie Times" will be very much appreciated!
