In NY, my wife and I did Thanksgiving for the two of us most years (we had the occasional guest and one neighbor would always stop down and visit later in the evening [his family "tradition" was the ESPN Zone in Times Square {don't ask**, so he always appreciated "real" Thanksgiving food with us]). It's tough the first time around, but between divvying up the dish assignments and finding a few dishes that can be mostly prepared ahead of time, it's very doable.
