Told for the first time in a book, the triumphs and successes of ALAN, a smal company, based in Saccolongo in the province of Padua, since 1972, that has written important pages of the history of Italian and worldwide cycling and came up with revolutionary ideas on road bike construction, introducing new materials and experimental and original techniques for the production of frames.

Today, all manufacturers in the world produce aluminium alloy and carbon fibre bikes thanks to this small business that, with bravery and perseverance, dared to open up new avenues in the universe of professional cycling.

Amongst the champions that have raced and won on ALAN frames we count at least Zilioloi, Basso, Bertoglio, Vandi, Gavazzi, Baronchelli, Beccia, Bettaglin amongst the Italians; furthermore, Thevenet, Kuiper, Lejarreta, Parra, Luccion Herrera, Johansson; in cyclocross Vito di Tano (two times amateur world champion) and Pontoni, and amongst others Zweifel, Wolsholl, Stamsnijder, Thaler, Kluge; and finally by the pistards Golinelli (two times wearer of the rainbow jersey), Brugna, Villa, Clark and Risi.


Per la prima volta raccontate in un libro, le vicende e i successi della ALAN, una piccola ditta, sorta a Saccolongo, in provincia di Padova, nel 1972 che ha scritto pagine importanti della storia del ciclismo italiano e mondiale e che ha saputo rivoluzionare l'idea di bici da competizione, introducendo materiali nuovi e sperimentando tecniche innovative e originali nella produzione dei telai.
Se oggi tutti i marchi mondiali producono bici in lega d'alluminio e in fibra di carbonio è anche per merito di questa piccola azienda veneta che, con coraggio e determinazione, ha saputo aprire una strada nuova nell'universo dei cicli da competizione.
Tra i campioni che hanno corso e vinto con i telai ALAN, ricordiamo almeno Zilioli, Basso, Bertoglio, Vandi, Gavazzi, Baronchelli, Beccia, Battaglin tra gli italiani; poi Thevenet, Kuiper, Lejarreta, Parra, Lucio Herrera, Johansson; nel ciclocross Vito Di Tano (due volte campione del mondo dei dilettanti) e Pontoni oltre ai vari Zweifel, Wolfsholl, Stamsnijder, Thaler, Kluge; infine tra i pistard Golinelli (due volte iridato), Brugna, Villa, Clark e Risi.
