Right, which is why I like clipless pedals. I can sprint out of a light if I need to, and when I'm going up a hill (on my fixed gear, which is a whole other story), I can pull hard to get up the hills. Which I sort of have to do.
I definitely noticed a difference moving from plain pedals to clips/straps and then from c/s to clipless. I went faster.
