I also eat a lot of carbs and very little fat. Atkins died with heart desease and was obese. A Pritikin type diet is much more healthy, it is FAT that makes you FAT not carbs. I dont eat a complete vegan diet cause I have a hard time getting B12 and suffered nerve damage from a vegan diet. So I add tuna, white meat turkey and fat free cheese. I am 5'9 , 147 pounds I believe Bill Clinton follows a similar diet mostly vegan, but not entirely vegan. Forcing your body into carb starvation to burn fat when all you have to do is not eat the fat doesnt sound very healthy. In Asian countries where the main food staple is WHITE RICE people are very thin and healthy. OF course any weight loss when you are 160 pounds over weight is a good thing, it is just healthier to eat low fat, high carb. Pritikin diet has been proven right over the last 40 years.
