Trying to lose weight this winter? Sigh.
I actually got down to a pretty good fighting weight of 153 just a month ago (I'm 5'9"). Then we took our 2 week holiday to New Zealand, where I promptly caught the chestcold from hell and ended up eating a lot more steak and potatoes and other comfort food ... like this here "Boston Bun."
It was as tasty as it looks.
What a surprise ... I got home having gained several pounds. And I had a good start in losing that when the Thanksgiving holiday intervened. Oy.
My usual weekday routine is to burn 1000 or so calories going to and from work, and eat a light breakfast and lunch. And that makes for a calorie deficit of 500-1200 calories a day. So my regular routine is one one of weight loss.
But the weekends and holidays ... oy do they slay me. Anybody else have that problem?
BTW: The "My Fitness Pal" cellphone app is good for counting calories and managing weight.
