My latest favourite though are MOPP bundling tapes. They're thin as you wouldn't believe, great for tricky rim/tire combos. For a MTB in "trail" configuration, one layer is enough. For a multi-use MTB, I'd recommend two layers. Might need three to get it to work with narrow, high pressure road bikes.
