In my experience, the Brooks leather requires a cover in inclement leather. The Brooks saddle cover is overpriced, various knockoffs are economical, work well and are easy to stuff into pack or pannier.

I switched to Selle Anatomica and their "watershed leather" saddle; no cover required. :-)
