My take, if you run factory Fulcrum , Shimano or Campy wheels that use extra wide flange spacing w/2:1 lacing , or offset rim drilling or both, 11 speed will probably be reliable. If you are looking to build custom, hub choices and offset rim options are VERY limited to build as reliable a wheel that is laterally stiff. You just cant get there, math does not bend to marketing hype. Sure compromises work but they still are a compromise. I have only found one R hub with 60mm flange spacing, it's $500.00+ and not drilled for triplet.
