I know what you mean (or I feel your pain)...

I lusted for a Colango for years. They were pretty scarce in much of the US during the early 70s. Finally in 1978 I bought 2 Super frames for our shop, an orange one and one in Gios blue. I labored over which frame I wanted for a month or so, ended up with the orange one.

In 1982 was riding around San Francisco with a GF. Afterward we put our bikes in her car and went to have lunch. Coming out of the restaurant, from a block away I could see the broken glass on the sidewalk. The thief got both bikes plus broke into the trunk and got both sets of wheels!

When I started riding road bikes again in 2006, I began looking for a replacement orange Colnago. Settled on a red one instead.
