It is such controversial and sensitive issue today because of those incessant adds about low "T"
But for some there is a very real need medically to take testosterone and possibly other hormones du to hypopituitarism. Life without testosterone is difficult and ultimately dangerous--couple of people in this thread mentioned it because it is important for muscle functions and skeletal health among other important reasons.

It is advertised so much because of a simple delivery system has been developed in the last few years and the pharmaceutical industry wants to capitalize on those gels that don't work for everyone and particularly for the ones who are in real need!

A somewhat painful intramuscular injection every week or every two weeks is a life saver and has nothing or little to do with sexual function or at most very secondary!
