I have often thought of doing the Great Divide Trail but north to south. You are wise to take the North to South direction for the Pacific Coast portion as the prevailing winds are typically north to south. I have fond memories in Oregon of strong tailwinds and feeling sorry for the few that ventured south to north.
Good to know. There is reportedly a greater water availability in the southern portion of the GDMBR in late spring, for south to north tourers. I have read conflicting accounts of the prevailing winds along the way, I guess it depends on fronts coming through. My own riding history indicates I will encounter a rotating headwind, so whichever way I turn....
