I wash mine down with a garden watering can full of hot water ( it usually takes a couple of refills ) and then wipe the non-painted parts dry. Every week or so I use wet lube on the chain. Never had a spot of rust.
One problem for m any winter riders is that we turn off all outside water in the winter.
