I am pleased to report that my city repaired the fire hydrant that was leaking water across one of the roads on my route. I put up with it all summer but called the city when the weather started getting cold because I was afraid that the water would turn to ice on cold mornings. It took them a couple of weeks to fix it after I called, but the road has been dry lately -- just in time for winter.
