Do you have Ting in your area?
Just checked- Ting is scheduled to roll out GSM in February. Not sure what associated fees/taxes, but if I'm reading their pricing matrix correctly, I could be averaging between $9 and $12 a month. More than my current Tracfone service, but it looks like to be the least cost option to activate the new phone.
