Particular informations on these special PX10s (e.g. from catalogs or owners who bought one new at the time) seem to be non-existant.
My personal impression is that these olympic rings bikes were perhaps some kind of posh variant, for a different clientele, offered parallel and contrasting to the racy checkerboard "team" livery (below):
