Thank you for your comments. I was convinced in my mind that one of the two ears had to be where the cable went. I checked for cable wear and could not confirm one side or the other. THEN all of a sudden I thought I saw a hole. Yes, a hole in the bolt for the cable to pass through. Of course. Duh. Again thanks.
