If someone says there is no evidence that a helmet helped in any of the accidents, he's pretty much arguing that.

Some of us are just pointing out that the protective benefit of helmets is not nearly as large as some of you would have us believe, that it's perfectly possible to ride in ways that negate the need for protective gear (and that some of us have decades of cycling experience without ever suffering a strike to the head/helmet), and that obnoxious helmet-nannying is unproductive at best.
I don't disagree with that, since I often leave the helmet at home with no qualms.
