Mine was not reported since my helmet prevented any injury to my head, as Im sure thousands of other accidents are not reported.

Would your head have hit the ground if you weren't wearing a helmet? You don't know.
Did your helmet protect you from injury? You have no idea, or at least have not provided any relevant data indicating it did.
Did your helmet contribute to being hit in the first place? Unknown.
Most likely, a new cyclist reading my clap trap against helmet believers and who bases their decision regarding helmet use on such online information is an idiot who won't get hurt.
