FBinNY, Great point, Thanks! I do have a very large vernier caliper at work that will give me an excellent measurement if I go this route. There are a lot of old RockShox a few years newer than mine on eBay for cheap. I figured that staying within the brand and close to the era would most likely land me something with the right dimensions. Steer tube idea is intriguing, but would like to retain my Bontrager crown if possible.
