i've shipped two using greyhound from oklahoma to washington state (so no door-to-door service).

- one was a full bike without wheeset that cost under $50
- one was a full bike in a regular bike box with the front wheel off and the stem/bars out of the steerer that cost $70ish.

i shipped a third whole bike using fedex with door-to-door service from seattle to houston for a bit over $100.

next time i do this i'll look into fedex (and shipbikes.com), but i'll drop it off myself. i like the idea of using two boxes. seems safer and more practicle.
