Boxes have a way of suddenly growing while in the hands of FedEx resulting in back charges if they have your credit card number. Has happened to me and others.
+10 UPS will take all measurements and round each of them up putting you in a higher rate if you are not careful. USPS will put a tape around the girth and add the length. Depending on the size of the bike, you will not have much to spare dimension wise.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
