When you straightened the hanger, you moved the entire RD outward. That means you have to do a complete adjustment, including both limits and the trim.

BTW- sometimes low gear skip is caused by poor B-screw adjustment which has the RD too close and allows the upper pulley to touch the sprocket through the chain. Backing the RD off (lower) for increased pulley clearance solves that.
