I would guess that you haven't had any pedal strike because you can't currently get going fast enough to lean into a corner. 175 is way too long for a road BB. I ride 170s on my conversion and even then can't corner worth a damn, I'd put 165s on there if it was still my daily ride.

There are also narrower bottom brackets that will let you bring in your chainline, though I'm a little surprised that your chainline is that goofed given that geared drivetrains are built around a 42.5mm track chainline.
