Don't know about that particular case but for anyone else who is interested in this stuff, ( totally different situation ) I recently put a clamp Suntour Derailleur on my Derosa that had the Braze on lug. I put the clamp under the lug and to my surprise worked great. I imagine if you try this and can't get the Derailleur high enough on the large chairing, you can indent/shave a little V off the clamp area and raise the derailleur if necessary. ( Not hijacking thread, just a possibility to keep in mind for a cheap fix )
