Last night was brutal, 13.5 miles in strong winds and 2 to 3 inches of snow. It was everything I could do to move the Pugsley at 9.5 mph. At one point, I was very happy with the heavy wheels, the crosswind would have pushed me over with a lighter bike. The pièce de résistance... just two blocks from home, I need to cross a packed road, bumper-to-bumper cars. Car in the near lane stops to let me cross, I started forward still on the bike and realize, I should dismount. I go to swing my leg over to dismount, but my tired leg couldn't clear the fender... got hung up and fell in the road slush. Proud moment.
This morning was a little better, less wind and some of the trails on my route were clear. Spring is only 4 or 5 short months away, at least here in Minneapolis.
