Thanks to all for the excellent advice. I am processing. I am also committing to search for a TA crank puller. Bike shops are few and far between in my neck of the woods so I'd better hone my bicycle maintenance skills. Besides, dragging a tandem to Memphis in an old Honda Prelude is a bit of a stretch (no pun intended). I'm grateful for the interest and support the Bike Forum has generated so far.
