There is usually a couple of mm of lateral adjustment on the disc calipers. Do the calipers also use a special mounting block? What are the options for the mounting blocks?
One never really knows if it will fit until one starts playing around with the spacers (possibly on both the right and left). You don't need much clearance for your cassette. I think now I'm so tight on mine that there would be no way to throw the chain on the outside.
Even if you drop it down to 132mm... that would only leave 2 mm to spring the frame which is probably within most tolerances of what you and the frame can handle.
I like it to fit nicely too. I'm just curious if a 5mm difference (2.5mm on each side essentially) is really that big of a stretch...
I'm talking BB7 calipers, so the mounting block is pretty standard. Here's a pic of the mount points on the frame:
I'm using an 8 cog cassette so that's not an issue.
