defensive? why would i need to be? i'm guilty of spending wayyyyy too much $ on my bike in the first year of my new job.
my comment has to do w/ the fact that your statement made no sense in context of the group conversation. I didn't know if you are "defending" your decision to get an expensive bike, making a deeper philosophical point, or doing something else.
