I'd have to take a photo to show you all what I have on my hands here,... it's not that a few threads are botched up,... it's that you can visually see where half the hole for the pedal's threads was actually "enlarged!" If you saw it you would have thought that a loose pedal wallowed out a hole like that, thus destroying those threads,...but, if that were the case, I'd have lost that pedal while I was out at some point. Nope,... there's no threads to chase,..except for a few at the backside of the crank arm,...it's crazy really!
I'm amazed I didn't rip the pedal out, but I guess those Japanese forgings are strong enough to hold a pedal in place even when only half (or less than half) the proper threads are holding it in place!!??
