I'm running a 11-36 10-speed cassette (SRAM) with a Deore XT RD-M772 9-speed deraileur, and 10-speed 105 brifters. The combo was easy to tune and shifts great. As the RD is only rated to a 34t cog, adjustment of the B-screw is a somewhat touchy, but does work fine.
Some of the Gevenalle GX shifters claim to work with the newer Shimano 10-speed mountain deraillerus, which won't work with 10-speed road shifters. If so, that gives you a much bigger selection of RD's to choose from.
