Dents are like rel estate. It's about location, location and location.

Actually it's more than that, and the nature, depth, cause, location and material all factor.

An upset (buckle) under the front of the down tube caused by a collision, is very different from a chainstay dent that happened because a stick got caught in the spokes.

The various factors determine both the likelihood or timing of failure and the consequences, so every dent has it's own story.
