The Trainer Road 8-minute test should be relatively easy. Much of it is a "warm up", which should be done at a relatively low level of exertion. You want to get blood flowing through your legs, not tire yourself out! During the two 8-minute power intervals, you should be working hard but not so hard that you can't complete the interval.
