Everybody has different tolerances for cold hands, so what works for me might not for you. I am sensitive to cold hands and don't really ever feel too hot. I wear full finger gloves year round even when it's over 90 degrees in the summer.
If your hands run colder, Giro Ambient gloves are great, recommended by the company for 40 degrees. They're water and wind resistant and have a warm fleecy inside. These are my favorites if it's going to be under 50 degrees.
Slightly less insulating are Giordana Corsa Windtex gloves. They are wind blocking but have less insulation than the Giro Ambient. They also make the glove for other companies, I got the Capo branded version on eBay on the cheap. I like these for temps in the 50s.
