OK I guess "they all do that", brazing just looked a little more lumpy than what I'd expect from Moto in that shot, but it's just my expectations.

As for the lugs, I think it's very plausible that Nervex made some specials just for Moto, combining the details of those two styles (49-162 and 49-159) into one hybrid, but IIRC there was another theory put forth by none other than Norris Lockley where he concluded that they were modified/reworked Oscar Eggs done by the French successor who acquired their tooling...wish I could find that info but I think it's deep in the CR List archives which are now folded into some Google Group Gulag...
