I too wear reflective ankle bands, for several reasons. They say "cyclist" so distinctively and the motion attracts attention. If what I've read about Massachusetts bicycling law is accurate and if I remember it right, anyone cycling at night (defined as 1/2 hour after sunset to 1/2 hour before sunrise) is required to have either reflectors on the pedals or reflective ankle bands.
