You can run really any gear combo you like, if it rolls out under the limit. They put it in the hardest gear, put one crank at 90 degrees and measure how far it takes for the crank to return to the original position. It must be under 26 feet, if the crank does not come back to 90 degrees in 26 feet, your gearing is too hard and you get dq'ed
