Bikes rarely come with manuals because the parts are made by other companies;Fords can have Ford engines, but Trek/Spec/Giant/etc use Shimano/SRAM/Campy parts. Novara(REI) is the only company I've ever bought a bike from that came with paperwork, and those were just the installation sheets. Also something to note: Giant has a habit of buying components and rebranding them with their name. Looked everywhere and couldn't find replacement pads for the GX2 brakes on my old Sedona. Finally figured out they were just rebranded Hayes MX2's.
