Turbos are done and putting Subaru WRX engines is a very popular conversion.

But is a Beetle with a Subaru drivetrain still a VW?
What does a 2.2l put at the crank hp wise? Over 200hp could be easily done, but how reliably? But you don't want to go down the honda route and push the n/a to 10k rpm haha. I am happy with our 45 hp 1.6l, they are torque motors and I don't push it over 4k much, its nothing to race on, but first gear pulls hard.
