Wednesday I was riding with one of the princes. I say to him, what is that creaking noise? We can't figure it out, it's louder when he pedals. We're almost home so we don't worry about it.
Today he gets his bike out to clean it for tomorrow's century (different one than mine). Here's what he texts me:
Thats a crack in the down tube of a bike made out of... What material would you guess? Yep, steel.
This bike is a 14 year old Lemond, if that makes any difference. The crack was right near one of the bolts for the water bottle cages.
He just dropped the Sparrow back off, there was hope he could ride that, but it's too small.
Gotta ya hit the hay, big day tomorrow.
