Check oil level, if low top off and try again
Unplug wire and test start if it does, try an engine oil flush and change.
Infrequent oil changes cause sludge to build on sensor, most generators recommend oil changes every 40 hours of operation. In that same 40 hours it is not unusual to consume 3 or 4 ounces of oil.
