By today's standard $10,000+ racing machines, yes it is heavy. Flaming oath: unless you are racing your freckels off in some CAT race, it just just does not matter a tuppence if it is not a plastic featherweight.

Interesting. I've sometimes thought that descents were the only (but slight) pimple in frame. In comparison, my 531 Romani?/Simplon will swish downhill like it is on rails! On the 979 I am always alert for the unexpected. Pretty mild difference, but it is there.
