makes sense. My frame doesn't have the mounting tab to stabilize the FD. I used the included bolt and nutted it to secure the FD to the bracket. I guess the Alivio bracket was strong enough. I'm going to return the XT FD and get the Problem Solvers direct mount adapter and use an X7 FD I have in the parts bin.
