I'm a believer in better quality consumables except when it comes to chains and FWs - Cheapo KMC chains have proven to be exceedingly reliable and trouble free, but of course you can't replace a chain without replacing a FW, and that's the other place where, IME, the cheapest turns out to be equivalent to (or better than) the items costing 5x as much. That's why I usually stick with SunRace FWs.
